Oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz every day.
If that stops, the global economy shakes.
In the latest episode of The Stan R. Mitchell Show, I break down whether Iran could actually close the Strait — and three ways this war could end.
(Timestamps below)
Another episode in the books.
Man, it's always exhausting by the time I'm done, and exhilarating (and terrifying) in the middle.
Another busy week. Let’s slow it down and think clearly. New episode drops tomorrow.
If you want the episode as soon as it’s live — and the occasional written note — the email list is the best way to stay connected.

They say you have to think outside the box (or trash can) in the military. 😂
Stan, tell me about your time in the infantry…
Like racing Corvettes against a fast sloth armed with a switchblade. Only cost the US 3 million a missile. And with the US firing them, MISSile earns its name. I'm so proud.
Looks like the Pentagon is taking the mine threat serious.
And keep in mind we’ve killed multiple members of the family of Iran’s new leader Mojtaba Khamenei, including the new leader’s father, wife, and one of his sons, along with other close relatives.
So, yeah, he's probably going to mine the Strait of Hormuz. (And fight us for as long as he can.)
Yikes. How big is Iran?
Two thoughts on this.
On the one hand, I miss the Ronald Reagan Republican Party, which said,“Trust, but verify.”
But on the other hand, we’ve been helping Ukraine with intel that certainly led to the death of Russian soldiers.
So I am not sure that we have a leg to stand on.
I hear you! I read like a ton of books on it.
Got really pulled into it for a while.
Here’s my story/journey, if you’re bored.

I so want to watch that show!! lol
But I can’t pull the trigger on another paid subscription. 🤣🤣
And at this point, I wouldn’t want that show to affect my thinking.
But one difference — based on clips I’ve seen of Landman — is Knox is a Bible thumper who doesn’t budge. There is no gray for him.
Yep. Well said.
(Also, i used to be in your shoes! Left the church got more than a decade. Heck, i even studied other religions and basically called myself Buddhist for five years.)
So my hope for the show is simple.
I’ll be honest about what I believe.
But I’ll try to treat people fairly.
Because maybe the country doesn’t need more shouting right now.
Maybe it needs more conversations.
Most people — left, right, and center — want similar things:
Safety.
Opportunity.
A fair shot for their families.
And many are still searching for meaning, faith, and hope.
Treating people who disagree with you like enemies.
Assuming one political tribe has a monopoly on truth.
Social media amplifies the loudest voices on the edges.
But most Americans aren’t actually living there.
The real issue usually isn’t theology.
It’s tone.
Most people can listen to someone say:
“Here’s what I believe Scripture teaches.”
What pushes people away is contempt.
Here’s what I’ve realized.
There are still millions of Democrats in America who believe in God and value the Bible.
Fewer hold traditionally conservative theology.
But faith is still there.
And many of those people feel politically homeless.
I was thinking about my podcast audience years from now.
And something occurred to me.
I’m theologically conservative. I believe the Bible is the Word of God.
But I also want my show to be a place where people across the political spectrum feel welcome.
Can those two things coexist?
🧵
It's about time you got down to writing a new book my friend. Sounds like a good basis for a story. Looking forward to it.
Thank you!!
Tonight I finally started writing a new series I’ve been planning for a long time.
The main character is JJ Knox — a Marine vet who serves as a Texas Ranger in a rough corner of West Texas.
Oil money. Land fights. People who think the law doesn’t reach that far out.
They’re about to meet Knox.

This is a great analogy.
A top contender for sure.
And I saw a statement from the Israeli Ambassador saying they only struck oil facilities of the the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps/IRGC Quds Force, which only benefited the military and didn’t affect the Iranian people.
But the statement seemed defensive and that’s a pretty weak argument. 2/2
I’d say the below is 100 percent correct.
And I’d further say the oil attacks are over against Iran. 1/2
Oh, thank you!!
