I cannot explain how invigorating it is to be bringing my own vision to life. Especially that I finally have a vision I believe in. I am building this game like it’s my last ever chance to work on a game of my own design. Everything is done with intent and purpose.

Mostly I want to build a game that surprises people. Kelsey was playing the other day, and a particular moment happened that made her go “Are you seeing this?!” about something I had built and designed. I’d been waiting to see people’s reaction to that bit for a couple months. :)

My favourite thing so far after a week of feedback is that the thing most people are commenting on is my unusual gameplay. I know people think of me as an art man, but I have a lot of fun and strange ideas about interactivity and I love seeing people respond to them.

Folks have been testing the first chapter of Gilt this week. Lots of really great feedback. I added a couple of scenes, too. Here’s one I painted on Wednesday. I’m so happy to see people really connecting with the project and enjoying my strange ideas.

Well rested. I am happy to live a very full, busy life, where I am able to do many things that I am interested in and passionate about, but I wish I was less tired all the time.

She moves quite quickly when she needs to, so I think she’s okay! And you’d be fine, they’re not harmful to humans!

This seven legged huntsman spider has been hanging out on my desk for a couple of months. She’s gotten more and more bold, and has hung around for long enough that I’m now trying to decide what to name her.
