Thank you guys for the enthusiasm on this! Here's some of the in progress shots. Originally I had it wrestling with a giant squid, and then an octopus, but both felt too busy. It was also speared by the harpoon at one point but I wanted something more victorious feeling for the sea monster.

There was an artist who I was inspired by who'd drawn *all* of the eeveelotions as rabbits but I've been hunting for them for weeks and can't find the post :' ) but it was such a cute approach!!

In harsh flat black shading twists a sea serpent that's blue with white under accents. Yllow rope twists around it, it snaps an oar in its mouth, and a harpoon lays paralell with its neck. It has wild eyes.

That's one of the spots I haunt when I'm down in MD!! There's so many books to pour over there!

helping pendrake track these down was such a cool time because it meant I got to spend a day looking at dragon art from the 70s and 80s- there is an astonishing body of work out there if you poke around even just a smidge. I came away from it feeling a new, good way about my own art & about painting

OHH.... I will keep that in mind!! The detail may be too small as it is right now but I think there's some fenagling I can do to make it work for a screenprint :D
