Grace pressed send on the message it had taken her forty-five minutes to compose and immediately lost all confidence. What was she thinking? Major Joy Somerset – the Earthborn – wasn't likely to respond to an information request regarding some old cold case. In fact, she wasn't likely ever to receive the message. A Tower administrator would filter any messages sent to her and pass relevant ones on, and as a rule, Tower never found anything Grace had to say relevant.
Even if, against all odds, Major Somerset read the request, she would hit delete so fast–
A reply appeared on her HUD.
"Dear Detective Telluride,
Working on something new... about halfway through the first draft!

A quick sketch of a Primaterre forward operating base and its surroundings. There's a marsh, jungle, an abandoned power station, and plenty of ruins.
My upcoming novel will have not one, but two maps. I just got to see this sketch of one of them and it looks so good already!

A printed manuscript - it's a chonker!
Today is the first day in nearly two years that I've not worked on this novel - it's finally finished!
...well, okay, there's one more edit pass to go once I have a proof copy, but for now the next Grace Telluride book is in the hands of my cover artist/typesetter. It's pretty big!
