on that note. im kinda mad that i drew all this food and didnt include the iconic spaghetti-o jello ring. you know the one.

it's all decadence and unecessary carnage. we got deviled eggs. chocolate fountains. weird seafood. bizarre decorative centrepieces only for the eyes of the rich and powerful. and meat. so much meat.

i went crazy experimental on the table bc it gave me the chance to show off yuuma's taste in food.

panel 1: sphene finds herself overlooking the ballroom of the old castle. the floor is occupied with alexandrian high society-- couples of hyne, elrein and milalla dance in twos, dressed in sweeping gowns and finery. some are served tall glasses of champagne by ballroom attendants. sphene is perched on a tall throne, evelated by a staired platform, where two knights keep guard at the foot of them. light pours from the large lattice window behind her, bathing the large room in a golden glow. panel 2: sphene gazes out at the crowd blearily.

Panel 1: sphene finds her two loyal guardians, also bathed in gold, by her side: ser otis to her right, ser zelenia to her left. she looks up at otis. Panel 2: ser otis gives sphene a warm smile. reassured, she smiles back.

a four-panel sequence where sphene sits whistfully, eyes closed, drinking in the ballroom ambiance, but her comfort is quickly replaced with melancholy. a stray tear falls from her face. it is revealed that sphene is sitting in the dimly-lit backrooms, in her casual wear, listening to the ballroom music of her time on a pair of headphones. on the last panel, she gingerly wipes away the fallen tear.
