In advertising, clients keep asking about 'price per second' for CGI during pitches. Do any studios actually charge this way?
A 5s shot can take 1 day or 1 month depending on complexity. Final duration has nothing to do with the amount of work required, but clients seem fixated on it as a metric.

On an old project, I had assets that shared very generic textures names like diffuse.png in different subfolders. The render farm plugin collected the scene, all the textures ended up in tex folder without conflict resolution, leading to random texture swapping. Nice to experience near a deadline π

This should replace the old Ps Filter Gallery already! Would it be possible to port a similar workflow to After Effects, with animated properties? That would open a lot of post-processing possibilities

The 2D to 3D possibilities of the latest Blender update seem wild π€―
It's a tricky time for C4D, between Blender and Houdini. I wish they would implement better tools to compete with Grease Pencil or Solaris. The scene nodes seem promising, but it still feels like an alpha implementation.

Sketch and toon 3D render image made in Cinema 4D showcasing the stroke overshoot feature.
Yes, I loved the strokes overshoot too! But it was indeed slow... I remember waiting up to 10 minutes for the generating lines phase. Not sure how old it is, but it was already there in C4D R11, so I guess the code was never really updated to take advantage of modern multi-threaded hardware.

Sketch and Toon render used as a storyboard image for a motion design animation project done for Roger Dubuis in 2018.
Sketch and Toon in #cinema4D was so ahead of its time for NPR, it's sad it was never upgraded. Modern renderers don't really offer the same features, like cloned outlines with variations that aren't constrained to the geometry. It was fun for quick storyboarding, like these images made with R17
