His whole life, Trump has always had someone else around to bail him out of the messes he creates: his father, Allen Weisselberg, the "adults in the room" in his first term. Now all those protectors are gone and he is openly begging for someone to save him from his own folly.
Itβs hard to blame woke DEI when the military is losing a war because of the straits.
This explains something that can often seem, to outsiders, somewhat baffling, which is that the peccadillos & attitudes & mistakes of liberals seem to make the entire media *far more authentically angry* than anything the right does, up to & including "destroying the constitutional system."
there is a reason you rarely see op-eds from people who actually grew up around MAGA folks and in deep-red america *unless the angle is to chide liberal readers for a lack of empathy or understanding etc*
they donβt want pieces that say: i know these ppl. i lived with these ppl. theyβre fash.
All this aside, AIPAC is straight up disgusting. It does this crap all the time where it'll run ads though shell PACs attacking candidates for things that have nothing to do with the one issue it actually cares about. It's a ratfucking organization.
Every now and then, it's worth reminding yourself that every single crisis of Trump 2.0 -- the economic downturn, the chaos in our cities, the rising health crisis, the foreign wars -- has been a direct result of their own actions.
If they'd done nothing at all, they'd be coasting comfortably.
Oh boy here we goβ¦
I think calling Iran a distraction from the Epstein Files is probably overly simplistic, but I do think Trump mostly viewed it in the context of his ongoing "Great Man Doing Big Things" campaign to fend off accusations that he's a degenerate octogenarian under the hypnotic sway of a sicko vizier.
They blew up USAid and doomed millions to an agonizing death but a video of them being an idiot on camera is causing reputational damage
Jesus. Fucking. Christ. This kid wants to get out of detention in time for his school spelling bee. What the fuck are we doing.

The only time Iβve ever gambled (despite multiple trips to Vegas over the years) was $20 on my Alma materβs football season, put down in the mgm in February 2020. Iβm not saying my lone gamble caused a global pandemic, BUT

the term βmilitary excursionβ is a pejorative term to describe military adventurism gone awry, needlessly draining blood and treasure so in that sense yes, Donald trump accidentally is describing his policies and actions accurately
"I'm willing to take a not guilty. I'm willing to take a no true bill."
What she means is she's willing to bring legally deficient cases that harass innocent defendants, waste her line prosecutors' time, and makes her office look like jerkoffs in front of judges and juries.
Imagine being a shady hack who calls himself "The Woke Ginger." God, these dark money-funded influencers are insufferable.
4 troops died yesterday and hegseth is opening his presser by complaining about newspaper headlines
The civil rights movement wouldnβt have succeeded without Clark.
And your daughters likely wouldnβt be able to vote when they reach 18 without Wells.
Itβs not all women, but Sharon McMahonβs book The Small and the Mighty has some other really impressive US women in it too!
Septima Clark and Ida B. Wells are some of my favorites!
I keep seeing people ask about the 25th Amendment.
Guys. His entire Cabinet is walking around in shoes that donβt fit because theyβre scared to take them off.
The 25th is never happening.
Every day I collect another piece of supporting evidence for the idea that the pandemic made a dangerously large plurality, if not an outright majority, of Americans go absolutely feral. Zero sense of or interest in how to interact with other humans in shared spaces. None.
"Palantir CEO Alex Karp says his AI technology will lessen the power of βhighly educated, often female voters, who vote mostly Democratβ while increasing the power of working-class men."
Just saying it right out loud now.

Like wtf do you mean that they'd be risking "their own life and safety" by coming to the U.S. for the World Cup?

There are more instances of United States Citizens being detained by ICE than there are of illegal immigrants voting in elections.
Here's my bottom line:
Much of what they are doing is bad.
Much of what they are doing is unpopular.
Pushback is working.
We are winning.
Keep fighting.
Be creative.
Push for what you'd want.
Allow for insiders and outsiders.
Realize that change takes time.
Reduce harm in the meantime.
The single most American thing you can do is come to America with a burning desire to live in the land of your dream of freedom, crossing jungles and rivers and mountains and deserts because of your unshakable belief that a better life awaits through the golden door. Thatβs the core ethos.
Sen. Rick Scott in 2022: βThe buck stops with one person. Joe Biden made your gas prices go up. He did it. He actually did it.β
Scott today, 14 months after Trump took over: "Unfortunately, [gasoline] prices are gonna be up for a while."
