Seems like a surprisingly successful program!

Side comment: M*sk arguably did the biggest heist in history. D*ge got all living/recent US persons data. All of it. An AI training data pool unlike any other.

I support you, but do more for York. Having a big majority may not protect you from the Green Party. Earn our support.

US-based academics have been editing their grant titles & abstracts to remove words like 'diversity', even if the usage is 'diversity of bacteria in stool samples'.

Ironically, NIH/NSF/SBIR haven't been awarding grants anyway...

Cloth Hall, is that where Tank & Paddle currently is?

Personally I felt it was fraught, with lots of us using the 'tactical voting by postcode' website to ensure the Tories lost. They have an inbuilt advantage in the shires?

Are polls gamed? Would that account for labour slippage?

If anyone is friends with any Georgian air traffic controllers, buy them a nice bottle of wine. As guardians of pretty much the only narrow gap still available between Europe and Asia that avoids both Iran, the Gulf, Ukraine and Russia, they are under some substantial pressure.

Trump’s former AI adviser Dean W Ball: “Nvidia, Amazon, Google will have to divest from Anthropic if Hegseth gets his way. This is simply attempted corporate murder. I could not possibly recommend investing in American AI to any investor; I could not possibly recommend starting an AI co. in the US.”

"How's the sculpture coming on?"

"Nearly finished. All the key aspects are done."

We really can do more in the UK!

More important now than ever, with the epochal shifts happening in the US. Also, investors are looking/ needing to diversify away from US. Prime opportunity for the UK.

I have spent five years so far trying to introduce productivity reforms to the UK that have been developed in the US. It is a tough slog. Lots of arguing, very little interest in improvement. Maybe the new Hickson review will help...

Constantin Brâncuși was born in Romania #OnThisDay in 1876; one of the greatest sculptors of the 20th c., Brâncuși created stunning images out of radically simplified & streamlined forms, such as "Sleeping Muse" (1910):

MIT is an outlier in many ways. I prefer using University of California as a reference.

Also, I appreciate the reference, but I disagree with most of the Demos piece.

Promise more than delivery is absolutely a problem. If UK universities spinouts delivered cash returns, there would be fewer financial issues. We need to do things differently.

Every university can be the basis for a small tech cluster. Almost all uni's have at least one capability. The process for producing companies is known. The challenges are uni interest and seed funding. The bureaucratic intransigence is substantial, sadly.

'Elect Trump to usher the socialist revolution' was precisely Bernie Sanders plan. Utterly disastrous.

Britain’s Story: The Next Chapter - BBC Royal Charter Review, Green Paper and public consultation

This is the Gov looking for your input on the BBC. It takes a while to complete (15/20 mins) but it’s pretty comprehensive and covers most aspects.

Please share. I’m surprised many people haven’t seen it yet.

A slight aside, but purity politics in the US had people not vote for Hillary, because 'they preferred Bernie'. Result was Trump elected.

I genuinely feel sorry for any decent person trying to be PM, facing the army of billionaire-funded right wing press determined to take them down.
