Shes always seemed to me, to be a person motivated by what helps her. She wants to represent and progress the groups she belongs too, while being very conservative elsewhere. Her progressiveness or perceived progressiveness was always motivated by self interest.
As a person who went to the same HS as Ana, i feel like....and i know this is entirely anecdotal and based on how a person was over 20 years ago...but I was more surprised by her being a serious voice on the left than I am this realignment with the right. If that makes sense.
