Anyway we should support JuliΓ‘n (Cartoon Saloon) when it comes out!
Based on the beautiful kids book "JuliΓ‘n is a Mermaid" and shaping up to be very openly queer in presentation and has a queer writer on the team (Juliany Taveras)
Let's support those who aren't afraid of helping tell our stories.
There's really no need for such dismissive language in regards to something that is important to a lot of people. Besides "Luca" is the gayest Pixar movie we'll ever need. deadline.com/2026/03/pixa...
This quote isnt just out of touch or disappointing, its fucking dark. Gay people are not a conversation parents need to have with their kids? Knowing gay people exist doesnt require therapy??
Any parents who thinks that way needs to have their kids removed ASAP. Get in a volcano, Pete.

Adobe appears to have reversed course on this. Animate is safe, at least for the immediate future.

These guys know what's up. @mohoanimation.bsky.social
Called and spoke with Adobe customer support and the guy told me Adobe is discontinuing Animate because apparently the company can't think of any new features to add to the program and they feel it's gotten stale.
So they're just GETTING RID OF IT???
I keep seeing the βreminder donβt use Adobe here are the alternativesβ image going around and folks, the problem is not just that Adobe sucks, the problem is theyβre blocking legal access to decades of art files utilized by individuals and entire teams
Someone has a year to buy the code for Adobe Animate, make it open source like Blender, and really do something worthwhile in this world.
adobe killing animate and saying "just use after effects" is the most fundamental misunderstanding of your customers ever, lol
A year, or three years if you're on a corporate license, but any which way it is completely absurd
even the companies we give our money to don't respect animation, how are we supposed to continue in an environment like this
lol Adobe is just killing Animate/Flash for no particular reason, completely upending the animation industry. just your average monday
Hoping to christ that they reverse this or the industry is going to take a massive hit... that and force industry people to permanently pivot away from Adobe for good. ughghghhhhhhhhhhhh
Guess I have a definite deadline for the movie now that our software is being discontinued π΅βπ«
You don't get to support killing citizens, kidnapping children, economic collapse, & international humiliation and tell yourself you're on the right side of history. Abolishing ICE is the moderate position, and we need to do so much more before we can call ourselves the land of the free again.
If our government can justify murdering a mother for trying to follow their instructions & a nurse for helping an injured person while carrying a fire-arm (a right we've been told year after year is so vital that its worth endangering our children), then they will justify hurting any and all of us.

I think a lot of us grew up thinking that "good vs. evil" was something that only existed in cartoons, fairy tales, and galaxies far far away. Those super villains pale in comparison to what is happening now though, and we don't get to play pretend anymore.

Showing the Sirenetta rough-cut to some (non-animation) friends tonight to get some audience feedback and just start sharing it with people. Iβm nervous cuz itβs still so in-progress but also excited - my husband hasnβt even seen it yet

I wanted to make a nice little self portrait to reflect on 2025 with, but I couldn't really figure it out and got a little lost. Ultimately though, I think that's a good encapsulation of how this year has gone. There has been a lot of beauty, there has been a lot of darkness.
I really donβt think I can let it go longer than an hour 45, and even that is pushing it for me, but weβll see how the last few scenes shake out!
Itβs time to export our year end rough cut π€©
The movieβs already an hour and twenty five minutes long π³
