I'm guessing the constraint is the github account not so much the copilot CLI. But the cli has just been bumped to general availability and version 1.0 so i would expect bigger user numbers, and honestly it's really not that bad these days even though it gets a lot of flak.

Because that is the only allowed agent for the company they work for. Many companies run on GitHub contracts…

Ok trying something for kipclip.com, I've made a kipclip cli: tangled.org/tijs.org/kip... it works independently of the kipclip web service e.g. it talks directly to your PDS fetching records from there so even if you do not use the website you could still use the cli for managing your bookmarks

Did you know atproto oauth also works with cli tools? First encountered this with skyboard.dev using the skyboard cli with login will open an oauth page and drop you back in the cli with a session. This opens up super interesting use cases for tools using your own pds backed data.

ah sorry I half read and then commented. I thought you meant you had a specific oauth atproto lib you dropped into each new project, and I was wondering which one. but yeah, atproto as a user system has made almost any social web thing I might want to build low hanging fruit suddenly. love it

Mastodon is nice, I’m on there too, and I’ve bridged. But I prefer Bluesky for the user experience and honestly also the tech. It’s possible to run a full independent Bsky but it’s gonna take more builders and more time to get there. Nothing wrong with having more options.

Ok that’s fair, can’t hurt to remain vigilant. Personally I think the people involved have shown through their actions to have good intentions. And I’m happy someone is taking action, we won’t get any EU alternatives if we don’t build stuff
