With “Native Son,” Richard Wright ignited a fire in American literature. One of the most influential writers of the 20th century, he inspired many, including the artist John Wilson, who would go on to use Wright’s words in his prints and paintings.

I got to see the newly renovated Portland Art Museum with my partner Suzie and good friend Alyson Bowen yesterday. The improvements are amazing. We all enjoyed the large exhibition of Rick Bartow’s work. Fantastic / heavy stuff. This is called “Song Bear” (2011). #art
