The vanity of our society is one of those things that irks me and always has.

Meanwhile, in Alaska, we aren’t being sanctioned by anyone. Tok and Chicken haven’t invaded Whitehorse or bombed the Yukon Territory… we still can’t make money selling oil… largely because oil companies pay politicians so they won’t tax them or make them pay fair royalties… if we are being honest.

Dark money groups are paying influencers to spread attacks about our campaign.

Like I say, something to try, not being critical, just depended on being able to get a fire going quickly once or twice a day in an arctic/subarctic environment for a few decades… so I have a little practice and hope sharing might help you find a less frustrating way.

large twigs, with just enough room to insert some paper under (I actually use birch bark — even better than paper) and build a little crib around your teepee with some dry wood, bark side out… include a few pieces for the top, but don’t choke the fire… you will nail a fire almost every time. +X

evergreen trees… (black spruce are best, but any work) there should be a lot of little twigs up to finger-sized branches. These are the best kindling there is. Even stuff that is still on the tree if it’s down low. If you make a little rats nest out of the small twigs under a teepee out of +X

I’m not being critical when I offer this suggestion. Just spent a lot of time (decades) depending on my ability to quickly start a fire daily near the Arctic Circle, and looking to pass on ideas. If you need kindling but can’t get some split for any reason, Go look around the base of +X
