Border Patrol in southern Arizona cited more than 100 people for not carrying their immigration documents in 2025 as part of Trump administration efforts to revive decades-old immigration laws.
New from me: Legal immigrants are now getting tickets for not carrying their papers under a decades-old, rarely enforced law. You can be cited if you're a permanent resident, international student, on a work visa, etc. Happening in southwest AZ but could spread elsewhere

Homeland Security documents confirm ICE facility coming to Marana
Recently published Homeland Security documents disclose plans for an ICE facility in Marana, Arizona.
“Many residents of Marana and communities across Arizona know what is at stake. They know detention centers come at a high cost. They tear families apart, fuel fear, and erode constitutional rights,” said Victoria López, executive director of the ACLU of Arizona.
