The problem is I cannot create an SS account if Experian, TransUnion and Equifax are frozen. SS will no longer mail tax and benefit documents.

My comment here isn’t necessarily about AI, but about uncontrolled data sharing. Yesterday I put a security freeze on Experian, TransUnion and Equifax. Overnight I was emailed by Social Security to create an online account with one of their two 3rd party information sharing portals.

I personally do not need to routinely access my SS account.

Apparently, beneficiaries can go directly to a SS office to obtain their 1099s & yearly benefit statements.

Bottom line: If SS beneficiaries place Security Freezes on these credit accounts, they block the sharing of information SS wants to access.

Everyone who blocks their access are unable to create an account and use their site.

The public’s one account for government. | Login.gov Use one account and password for secure, private access to participating government agencies.

I called the Social Security office. The email is a direct response to the Security Freezes I initiated yesterday with Experian, TransUnion and Equifax.

SS uses two 3rd party accounts to verify our information with them. login.gov and id.me
These accounts are comparable to healthcare portals.
