One of MGL's favourite beers was bought there. It wasn't the stout the crank.
Tbh I figured out if we went "up the hill" away from the English bars it wasn't that bad, apart from the weather. In fact found a local bar with a fondness for imported looney stouts. The owner was a sound bloke who wanted me to recommend UK breweries.
I went Benalmadena for it last year with a mate, which also meant 6 nations as well.
It always amuses me to see it called the Southport Weekender. I lost a few marbles at the original one.
