IMO the decision to put the world title belt on Punk was about as bad as booking Shawn Michaels to win the WWF championship in 1996 off of Bret Hart (at least Shawn eventually put Steve Austin over, Punk didn't put anyone over during his "real world's champion" heel run)
Hanger was never having that long of a title reign, I think the proper booking solution for taking the belt off of him would have been for him to lose to MJF so Max could say he one-upped Punk. Then you run MJF/Punk again and maybe put the belt on Punk
