Baby Hector being quiet and shy because he had a really bad stutter...he got teased relentlessly for it until Retsarra stepped in (probably violently). After that, Hector wants to be cool and strong like Retsarra, so he starts practicing speaking in secret.

Yes, traveling brings him joy, but it's the act of experiencing life WITH Hector that truly makes him happy. Adventure is wonderful, but for a time, he thought he wouldn't be ABLE to enjoy even the mundane with Hector any more, so now he appreciates those moments in a way he didn't before.)

about that inevitable farewell, because he loves Retsarra, but more than anything, he wants Retsarra to love life. If traveling makes him this happy, he wants him to continue doing it, regardless of if he's with him or not. (Of course Retsarra is having NONE of this.-

that asking him to come back to S9 would be the cruelest thing. However, Hector always planned on going back, only traveling during the off season and continuing to fight in the Arcadion and stay home with his cats in the on season. So he starts to build up this anxiety in his mind-
