When you look at the how and why of Title IX, you realize that people try REALLY HARD to ensure that women get less than men. But likewise it's absurd to think that letting a few trans girls compete compromises that. It's clearly about equity, not sex.

This is why I find the whole 'women fought for sex-based rights' thing so galling. They did not, they fought for access and equity which is not at all the same thing.

Yeah. Because when it comes to fairness there were ALREADY carve-outs. Already HRT requirements and so on. That was the EXISTING framework. But that kind of nuance is always going to be lost on bigots! They simply don't know or care!

And it won't work. There's nobody who ACTUALLY just has concerns about sports. There are only people who SAY they have concerns about sports, but they always, ALWAYS have deeper, more serious bigotry beneath the surface and sports are just the most socially acceptable topic to show it.

What Newsom is doing is reframing his record not as a sincere personal belief, but as a cynical calculation. Is he going to break with the majority of his legislature and veto pro-trans bills? Of course not. If he sees it as an opportunity to gain political points, he'll take it.

Again, this comes down to the following: Do you follow the evidence where it leads or do you yield to people who function entirely on how they *feel* about trans people? If you are unwilling to do the former, then why should we trust you? You will sign legislation--WHEN IT IS POLITICALLY FAVORABLE.

I forgot that this isn't even the first time in a year. A year ago it happened again where the doctor agreed something would help and insurance just shrugged and was like nah. And we pay SO MUCH for insurance.

And then they change the requirements for medication I've been on for ten years so I have to get a new doctor and spend hundreds of dollars to DUPLICATE care because MAGA has a stick up its ass about trans people existing. I fucking hate this country so much.

I have two prescriptions, one is on backorder so I can't start that, the other is not covered because insurance wants me to try two other medications first. One is insane and won't work, and the doctor agrees, the other is a worse version of the one that works which i got with a coupon.

Do people in other countries understand that in the US the doctor can prescribe you medication and then you just... don't get it.
