The main thing unique you seem to be offering is free backups, albeit only for small PDSes.
Also, if I were just coming from Instagram and joined Periwinkle to use Flashes and was paying for more storage — only to discover I could have just used a free Bluesky PDS account — I’d be pretty peeved.
My point is your individual PDS marketing needs work. Why would I choose you over Bluesky? Over Blacksky (who does allow non-Black, non-assholes)? On selfhosted.social or npmx.social?

@alex.bsky.team we were talking about alt statusphere implementations yesterday re:helping new / non-backend devs (hi it’s me) figure out all the options and learn — esp given atproto quirks. perhaps a collection of these statuspheres on the site with some general notes à la SDK page?
