Ummm it would have been 2-3 with 10 mins to play. So quite a big difference. But that’s by the by. VAR is riddled with qualitative judgement, inherent inaccuracy, it’s dreadfully slow and isn’t as yet fit for purpose. It’s killing the enjoyment in the game.

I wish I shared your confidence. The defenders trailing foot is in the air. Draw a line down from the foot and it aligns with Fernandez. Instead they’ve taken it from his upper body. This isn’t a full proof system. It’s just guys drawing lines on screens and hoping they’re in the right place.

Not sure it’s controversial not to agree with all aspects a rainbow armband signifies and particularly around gender identity etc. but otherwise a point very well made.

If players are taking controversial stands on social issues because of their religion, I expect them to be consistent. Football is a sport full of more problematic topics - gambling, alcohol, human rights etc. Without their objections to those issues, religion just sounds like an excuse.
