It’s all gonna depend if we establish a new constitutional democracy

This has 100% happened. The DOGE boys have an unmonitored, unsecured Signal chat where they make their plans and openly exchange data that are completely illegal for them to have viewed, let alone exfiltrated.

I talked to dozens of experts in government, academia, cybersecurity, and industry about exactly this scenario last year and not only did not one of them think I was being alarmist, many brought it up unprompted and many said there was zero chance it hadn’t already happened

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, in the next few years we will see at least 3 surveillance companies shopping their wares to the government whose base database will be this stolen government data.

I think this story is a really good example for people to look at when it comes to understanding bias at NYT. It's not that the reporter, Dana Rubinstein, says anything outright false. But the framing, word choices, etc., add up to an unprofessional and biased account.

Wars have public support when:

1) The country was attacked and has a good self-defense case.

2) Leaders persuade the people that a war of choice is in the national interest and important enough to be worth the risks,

And that's pretty much it. Neither apply to the Iran war. Not even a little.

And media eats it up; no story is complete or credible unless it has a quote from someone who’s done time at a big tech company. No policy is valid unless it’s had input from an exec from a big tech company.

Nasdaq is changing its rules to "entice" the SpaceX IPO to its exchange, which will fast-track the stock's inclusion in index funds... this effectively dumps Elon Musk's unprofitable garbage on vulnerable passive investors, and ensures new retirement accounts have to buy in.

If you took your kid to the doctor recently for any reason, there's a one in five chance you walked away with an off-label prescription. Nearly half of all pediatric prescriptions are off-label.

After the original Verge story on Grammarly using writers’ identities without consent, I thought that we should make a site about teaching consent, where we use Superhuman (who owns Grammarly) execs as examples of people who don’t understand consent. They could be shown as child predators.

The grim choice facing the Trump administration: Economic or naval collapse? | CNN Business The Trump administration is currently trapped between the specter of a global economic recession and a naval catastrophe.

This #1 article on CNN right now is a bunch experts strongly implying there is no way out of a global economic recession unless the U.S. Navy turns every shore battery and naval base in Iran into a heap of ash, at terrible cost in lives on both sides

There should never be any question as to who or what the US is when the bigots and hatemongers that the marginalized have said were always here choose to elect “leaders” such as this. It will happen again

As a country we should never be trusted again now that the emperors is exposed with no clothes

Trump did not announce a U.S. policy then walk it back. That is not what happened, and media presenting it that way does a disservice.

Trump said words he thought might appeal to his audience in the moment, with no connection to actual policy, then did that again with a different question/asker.

Dear NEH Grantee,
This letter provides notice that the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is terminating your federal grant (Grant Application No. FEL29509824) effective April 3, 2025, in accordance with the termination clause in your Grant Agreement.
Your grant no longer effectuates the agency's needs and priorities and conditions of the Grant
Agreement and is subject to termination due to several reasonable causes, as outlined in 2CFR§200.340.
For instance, NEH has reasonable cause to terminate your grant in light of the fact that the NEH is repurposing its funding allocations in a new direction in furtherance of the President's agenda. The President's February 19, 2025 executive order mandates that the NEH eliminate all non-statutorily required activities and functions. See Commencing the Reduction of the Federal Bureaucracy, E.O. 14217 (Feb. 19, 2025). Your grant's immediate termination is necessary to safeguard the interests of the federal government, including its fiscal priorities. Any objections or appeals to this termination will be managed in strict accordance with the President's Executive Orders,

Last year, this guy (left) from DOGE used ChatGPT to find NEH grants that were too “DEI” for Trump, and canceled them, including mine, as shown by the letter I received last April (right). Huge new NYT article on the back story link below

“…about the 1873 massacre in Colfax, La., where dozens of Black men were murdered by a mob of former Confederates and Ku Klux Klan members.

ChatGPT had deemed it “D.E.I.” Mr. Fox said he agreed. “Because it focuses on exclusively anti-Black violence, which is a race,” he said.”
