When we drain a wetland, we don't just lose water; we lose the cure for future diseases and we erase the heritage of the communities who act as its stewards.

As we celebrate #WorldWildlifeDay, let us remember the healing power of plants.

Wetlands cover a small percentage of the Earth’s surface, yet they are essential systems.

🍀 Rich in biodiversity and important to human life, they serve as water sources and natural purifiers.

🏞️ A world without wetlands is a world without water.

On the edges of rivers, along vast coastlines and in the heart of dense forests, wetlands breathe life into our planet.

Wetlands have always been more than just ecosystems, they are places of hope and resilience, and by working together we can ensure they continue to thrive well into the future.

Wetlands are home to a huge and diverse population of plants and animal life.

💰 But safeguarding them requires coordinated action from governments, businesses and communities.

🏞️ If we get it right, our wetlands and their inhabitants can continue to thrive, to the benefit of us all.
