In my lifetime, every Republican president has started a fucking war and crashed the economy. Every Democratic president has had to come along and clean up the mess left by Republicans. Will the American people ever fucking learn?

Much music on the horizon for your spiritual and mental health along with the opportunity to protest against the insane monster in charge.

βWar does not create a clean slate where suddenly we have to believe the absurd just because a leader says it. On the contrary, war provides the opportunity to see the core of the absurdity and the destruction that is being offered to us.β
This is what presidential sounds like.
Will Pattiz of More Than Just Parks writes that the BLM announces a plan to fell Oregon's last great forests, gutting the management plans governing nearly 2.5 million acres of these forests across 18 counties. He posts where you can submit a comment.
It should be perfect weather for Dropped By Birds once-a-month gig at Sonora Moonshine Company, 6th & Broadway, downtown Tucson. Instead of our usual first Tuesday, weβre performing on Thursday, March 5, 6-8:30pm, due to scheduling conflicts. Hope to see you!
Fridayβs Substack post covers the grim reaper visitations this past week along with the Old American Beaverhoundβs rants that the Democrats are to blame for your insurance premium problems even though they have a Republican House, a Republican Senate, and a Republican majority on the Supreme Court.
When crimes are consumed like content, the audience is trained to watch and not to intervene. This is media psychology.

It becomes a puzzle instead of a crime and fandom instead of a demand for prosecution. And donβt get it twisted, none of this is accidental. Itβs all designed to be spectacle without consequence so that power can protect itself.
It re-frames accountability as entertainment because the Epstein files are being treated like prestige TV with cliffhangers, recurring characters, Easter eggs, fan theories. Who knew what? Who was closer? Who looks worse this week?
....A headline here. A shrug there. This strategy trains the public to metabolize horror in manageable doses. Not to act, not to demand, but to absorb so that all this evil just gets turned into background noise.
Dr. Stacey Patton writes:
Hereβs the thing: the slow drip of the Epstein files isnβt about justice. Itβs about conditioning. Weβve been watching information about elite criminality being released in fragments. Some names today. Some documents next month.

In 2012 I made a series of eight crosses in an attempt to convey my state of mind at the time. Pendulumerica was made as a comment on the direction of the digital state of mind we are now completely immersed in.

Big Baby was created in 2018 and now lives in a lovely home on Whidbey Island, a ferry ride just west of Seattle. You can see more of my wire sculpture work here: (garymackender.com/wire_sculptu...)
I have an extensive collection of cabinet card and other early 20th century portraits of folks long dead, discarded and abandoned in junk shops. I made a series of portraits in 2012 attempting to give these people a second chance in an environment they could not have imagined.

This image is from February, 1984, when I would prowl around downtown Kansas City, Missouri looking for βthat thingβ to shoot. I used a Minolta SRT102 with a standard lens that day. #fineart #photography #triX
Iβm going to use Bluesky to showcase my photography and other artwork from over the years as Iβm exhausted by politics (Substack posts aside).
I hung up my SLR several years ago but started with Tri-X in the mid 70s. This one was shot with a digital SLR, 2010, Tucson, AZ.
I stopped posting on here because THERE SEEMS TO BE NO ENGAGEMENT. Prove me wrong? Hello?
βIβve just never liked bullies, and I donβt understand people who do. Itβs really not that hard. I wish more people would see that itβs not hard to stand up.β β Ken Casey, The Dropkick Murphys
In between yelling at the clouds and processing the destruction of Democracy, I managed to wrap up a couple of new pieces. Yellow Zoot & New Mexico Folded Camp.
PLEASE make a call todayβ¦these Republicans are needed to stop the insanity. I also wrote a short piece on this Big Ugly Bill yesterday...see link in comments.
In the Senate, not yet passed, let these folks know this is totally unacceptable. Leeβs office: 202-224-5444, Daineβs office: 202-224-2651. And let Mark Kelly know your position: 202-224-2235, and Ruben Gallego: 202-224-4521. In Kansas, Jerry Moran: 202-224-6521, Roger Marshall:202-224-4774.
Unfortunately the budget reconciliation bill has already passed in the House but you can still call these Arizona A-holes to give them a piece of your mind: District 02 Representative Elijah Crane at 202-225-3361 and District 06 Representative Juan Ciscomani at 202-225-2542.
This is just plain robbery in broad daylight of the American people by real estate developers, mining companies, oil and gas firms, and private equity firms flipping land for profit. OUR land.
This includes our own Sabino Canyon, Madera Canyon, Aravaipa Canyon, Mt. Graham and every other beautiful public land that Arizona has to offer.
Utah Senator Mike Lee (R) along with Montana Senator Steve Daines (R) have cobbled together a quiet proposal tucked away in the BIG UGLY BILL that includes two provisions that would trigger the largest loss of public land in modern history.
