I would never say it healed me, it was a pretty enjoyable, healthy coping mechanism though!

That said the game is violent as hell and while I didn't feel violent at the time I'd ditched a very light and cute game to work on it because I COULDN'T be cute at the time at all.

Genuinely, making a (currently unfinished oops) videogame got me through a bunch of intensely messed up things that all happened to me at once in 2022/23. Fiddling with a game gave me goals and control, an outlet and in some cases just an excuse to use my brain on something other than crisis.
