Yeah that's great. There definitely are companies that prefer people over bots. But the waters of normalization keep getting tested which is why we have to all stand firm. Give an inch they take a mile type deal.

Yeah, met a number of non-artists unwilling to see the issue currently, a number who do as well. But that's usually where the nihilism sets in for people, and I think it's important to not let the opinions of those who haven't given it the thought dissuade you from abstaining.
(It isn't lost on me that tech has almost always been exploitative, but that's my point, it doesn't need to be this way)
(It also isn't lost on me it's pushed in workplaces which creates tricky dynamics, but any pushback from us is good pushback. And still abstaining personally is important)
It is an automation cycle of hell we are perpetuating under the guise of efficiency and convenience. There's no grey area until gen ai is properly regulated. We need to fight against nihilism and apathy that comes with it. This isn't anti-tech, this isn't ant-progress, this is anti-exploitation.
If you want regulation, stop using it, including chat gpt and llms. Personal convenience is harmful here, we won't get anything regulated if people keep making cases for "it's actually really useful for x task" Yeah great, for you, but someone else is automating your work and making the same case.
The 3D artist will make the case that it's actually useful for concepts.
The writer will make the case that it's actually useful for music.
The producer will make the case it's actually great for DJ visuals.
Whoever drives doesn't matter, it will continue to replace us in all sectors.
Gen AI needs to be a zero use case. We can't make exceptions for it in any field or for daily tasks if we want it regulated. Cut the head off the snake and starve it, refuse all use or else it'll keep devouring. I don't see why this is so hard to grasp, it is honestly frustrating me to no end.

I really appreciate this TikToker with Tourette syndrome, Shay, for taking the time to educate so many of us (including me) about her disability and coprolalia in light of what happened at the BAFTAs with John Davidson when Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were on stage.
I learned a lot.
Straight out of the cult leader's handbook:
Before you can convince people that a 'being' is their God, first you have to convince them that it is their equal.
I’ve gotten mild pushback on my blog due to my skepticism over AIs supposed complexity but I just keep being proven correct

Red Eden, short scifi story I wrote to pair it a few years back. About a rogue red dwarf and accompanied planet slingshot towards the solar system and its interception. What would humanity find on the dimly lit forsaken world?

This is the second card I got to paint for @fabtcg.com, back in 2020. It feels like ages now, and while there are things I'd change from it, I'm still fond of this little guy, and even feel it kind of set a pathway for cards I've been assigned ever since.
