The trauma children across the US are experiencing is heartbreaking. Whether seeing their own parents violently ripped away with no notice, or the parents of their friends and neighbors, is something no child should experience. It will have longtime, if not lifetime, impact. It’s a tragedy.
When journalists are prevented from reporting firsthand, transparency and accountability are diminished. Without direct access, independent coverage is constrained, and press freedom is weakened.
