This is the smaller 50' version:
South elevation of the 100+yr old Western Front building near main and broadway in vancouver bc
Echoing a bit of 'traditional' urbanism, Mt. Pleasant style.
1.6 FSR
(or 1.75FSR as a 'balanced passive house' with density bonus).
Similar amount of green space and tree cover as the adjacent homes.
Something like this could soon be the new Vancouver Special within the 17+ Village centres across the city.
Take our "4/5" single-stair prototype building
and put it on two 33'x122 lots.
Mid block or corner.
18 elevator accessible homes, where every home has windows on 3 sides.
Light, Air, and a Social Stair
Tree buds and snow flakes
Happy March!
Well this is a rendering of a series of 3d models that Iβve put thousands of hours into creating, but the rendering prompts are fairly simple / iterative. Iβm curious about the value of short form video vs longer form or static renderings.
Great!
Or prince william sound circa 1989
My cousin is a much much faster runner than i could even imagine being, and now she also has a book.
(Maybe @pfbvan.bsky.social will carry itβ¦)
So... short clip 3D animations...
Useful contribution to the single stair urbanism dialogue, or just more meaningless ai slop? I can see both arguments, and am curious what you think.

I'm all for bringing climate issues to the forefront, but my kneejerk reaction to the launch of another mayoral candidate is a vibe something akin to Thunderdome.
Local resident radicalized by cityβs character home permitting process.
SP all the way.
Have been looking for an excuse to buy one of those disco ball helmets
Oh, I think its better off being led by someone who actually enjoys social organizing.
Perhaps also a bike fashion showβ¦
But with a fraction of the embodied carbon, energy demand, or tire pollution that you get with a large car or EV truck
Getting geared up for my commute, and thinking that it would be great if @onecityvan.bsky.social organized a cargo bike rally some time this summer... these things are a transformative tool, and we need to see bikes (and bike infrastructure) as not just recreation, but as your minivan, truck or car
Dear my delightful tweeps, some news! So after 30 years of City Hall and urban-issues stories that you all know, I'm doing something completely different β Iβve decided to run for a City Council nomination with @onecityvan.bsky.social and hopefully run on their slate this October.
Hey - I think Iβll vote for @avilewis.ca tomorrow.
Since becoming a Canadian a decade ago I havenβt had many opportunities to vote proactively (mostly just strategic votes to keep the cons out of power) & the NDP has seemed stuck in the 70s, but I like the energy and climate focus Avi is bringing.
And on the local front, Iβll just say that Iβve had lots of good @housing and policy chats with @fabulavancouver.bsky.social over the years and would be happy to support whatever it is that the next phase brings
bsky.app/profile/jmce...
Though, if she transitions away from writing, then I wonβt have any more opportunity to receive descriptive quotes like:
ββ¦he looks and sounds like he should be farming corn somewhere or maybe overseeing some bridge construction in a remote rural area.β

Looping around the seawall back under the Cambie bridge.
