Pretty crazy how important the blockade of a trade route is right now
The Covid-19 Royal Commission has broadly backed the decisions taken during the pandemic, while identifying areas for improvement.
I’m working with Governor Gretchen Whitmer on trying to save The Great Lakes from the rather violent and destructive Asian Carp, which is rapidly taking over Lake Michigan, and all of the beautiful surrounds. I’ll be asking other Governors to join into this fight, including those of Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, New York and, of course, the future Governor of Canada, Mark Carney, who I know will be happy to contribute to this worthy cause. Separately, I am also working to save The Great Salt Lake, in Utah, which, in a short period of time, if nothing is done, will have no water. This is on top of everything else I am doing. Only “TRUMP” CAN DO IT! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Trump refers to Prime Minster Mark Carney as "the future Governor of Canada"

Cartoon. Title: “Energy Drink” Picture shows Methanex president and CEO Rich Sumner sucking the dregs out of a can labelled “NZ” and saying, “Just a minute - nearly done” On the can, in small print it says, “Consumes 45% of NZ’s Natural Gas. Pays $70m to Canadian Owner. Receives high ETS subsidies. Too broke to pay taxes”
Fuel shortages and rising prices. A proposal to import expensive and dirty LNG and impose a gas levy. And then there’s Methanex, sucking up 45% of our natural gas.

Auckland Transport’s head of compliance saying it would take time for Aucklanders to recognise cycling “as a real form of transport”.
Auckland is new to cycling, eh?? I think the early 20th century would like a word. @nzdodo.bsky.social
Secretary Wright tweeted that the US Navy escorted an oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz, a headline that got blasted out across all the wire services.
And then he promptly deleted the tweet.
FUCK.
Herd immunity, so fucking important, and we're vaporizing it
A lot of technological advancement is a double-edged sword.
Vaccines, on the other hand, are just an uncomplicated positive (and often free!). A literal medical miracle, and people are finding reasons to not take them.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright deleted his tweet claiming this happened lol
But the building industry says if the Govt isn't prepared to share risk in big projects, it's not going to find anyone willing to build them. Tina Morrison reports.

"Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth insists that 'we, of course, never target civilian targets,' but large-scale bombing raids often hit and kill civilians, including children. This is one reason that it is immoral, as well as illegal, to launch wars of aggression."

I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.
True independent thinkers don't change their clocks just because everyone else does. I will do my own research and determine what time it is

At the War College, we regularly taught cases of strategic failure where we asked: "Was this a good strategy poorly executed, or a bad strategy?"
Also, you can have a bad strategy executed with a high degree of operational excellence as *I noted in the article*
Cartoon. Title: “Carpet Moth” Luxon as a moth, bumbling around a light bulb with “USA” written on it. There are hands at the bottom, holding reporter’s pads and a piece of paper with “US and Israel Attack Iran” Luxon is saying, “we support any action the US takes…Uh…Did I say…well, I meant…Except, Um, …Maybe not…Carpet Bombing?” Then down the bottom it says, “And with that, he bombed into the carpet”
