This is just amateurish. The box contents would be short-term ok in a different situation, but has nobody even considered the practicalities of using them? I'm going to be *really* charitable and assume cockup over conspiracy, but they don't know what they are doing & need to listen to those who DO.

The only exception to this is if you want to support creatives who get commissions through affiliate links. Guess how we get those? via codes that tell the website/kickstarter/etc, "Hey see this link? X person shared this, so you should pay them out for their link." It's typically "?ref=" IIRC (1/3)
