Had a great time visiting my "local" hydropower powerhouses: Oak Ridge National Lab and TVA's River Forecast Center.
Got to see the Frontier supercomputer (the computer-building kid in me squealed - it's the world's first exascale supercomputer) and the super cool control room at TVA.
I'm mesmerized by Oneohtrix Point Never's recent release -- both the song and the video. I'm in awe of the video - trying to figure out what is simulation and what is synthetic.
Anyone have ideas?

the debate of theory vs machine learning is nothing new. Not quite "age old" but certainly "off the age".
NeuralGCM, like a good negotiator and meme appreciator says "why not both" but in a pretty spectactular way.
