Most economists agree that by the time you're 50, you should be living in a book-filled cottage at the edge of the forest and solving minor mysteries in your village with the aid of a curious ghost cat.

Spent an hour "decluttering" today. The "clutter" would fit in a dog poo bag. Am not sure this was efficient use of my time.

A delicately patterned Orange-tip butterfly clings to a vibrant bluebell, its intricately mottled green and white wings blending seamlessly with the foliage. The butterfly’s fuzzy body and slender antennae contrast against the smooth, curled petals of the bluebell, which droop gracefully on a slender stem. The soft-focus green background enhances the vivid hues of the butterfly and flower, capturing a fleeting moment of springtime beauty.

Yesterday I filmed several baby birds walking across a street directly at my camera and asked Bluesky to suggest music

Several dozen folks did

Some even dubbed music over the original clip.

I haven't been able to get this out of my head.

So I give you

A Bluesky exclusive:

Reservoir Ducks

I needed more space on my bookshelf. So I did something radical. I read a few books - and then gave them away.

What is this magic?

I heard stories of people who've fed crows, and been given gifts in return. It sounded charming, so I began doing that.

Then, one night, there was a rapping on my bedroom window. I stumbled up and opened.

A crow flew in and spoke: "They're coming for you. You must flee."

I only just made it out.

There used to be an old sign by the path, warning passers-by of the local sleeping willow, which would trap the unwary with fatigue, engulf them while they slept, and release them a hundred years later.

There was a new sign:

"This sleeping willow is full."

And a map of other locations to try.

Throughout history, many methods of divination have been devised. From cards and tea leaves to intestines and flight patterns of birds.

You wouldn't think it is a field one can still innovate, but I'm creating a system based on the flick of cat ears.

It's not finished, but I enjoy the research.

Astronomers should read section 3 ('We live in an era where astronomers interact with data primarily through catalogs and databases ... there are far fewer opportunities to simply look at and ponder images of individual well-resolved galaxies.')

To whoever it was that rubbed a balloon on this duck’s head- Not Cool.

(Alt for photo - it’s a beautiful little duck with very spiky head feathers)

At a train station today, a train on the platform was making a noise / a fixed tone. Group of young lads (20yr olds?) then started harmonising with the train. One pulled out a harmonica.
