Year 5, here we go.

I should be finishing my GDC slide edits
But instead I am chatting with fake chat bots

Wrote a story about how I was involved with a real court case against one of the biggest pension funds in the world by @fossielvrijnl.bsky.social and how it and other cases inspired @allwillrise.bsky.social. #indiedev #gamedev #activism

I really like what this team is doing. Litigate the murder of a river by wielding rhetoric against those that benefit from watching it all burn. Gameplay has me feeling like a brilliant lawyer in a dramatic courtroom drama with the highest of stakes. I'd love to see what they can do when funded:

We're launched! I'm so thankful to this incredible group of authors for making this project possible.
I won't link/cap my last repost as the author has reposts turned off. He's correct and also the topic of "can fiction influence attitudes?" is fun, complex and nuanced. There's research on it! Unsurprisingly the answer isn't simply no or yes, neither zero nor 'too much" social power & responsibility
Iโve written about sustainability in the games industry and this book will be a great comprehensive overview โ perfect for folks wondering how games will clash with climate change. Iโve even got a chapter in it covering games mediaโs role!
and more of our authors: @vfqd.itch.io , Jonathan H., @hwirman.bsky.social , Ossian Nordgren, Kristofer Vaske, @aeiea.bsky.social, and @h3xtacy.bsky.social

This is a book designed to be approachable, with concrete, practical tips no matter your role. It's also a book with some deep critical chapters, if you're ready for them.
We wanted to show how games can play their part in addressing climate change and how we can sustainably make games for sustainability. We're so lucky that we gathered some incredible people to write chapters, giving a voice to those working on sustainability in and through gaming.
If you're curious about practical methods and in-depth critical takes on how to work on sustainability in and through games and play, have we got the book for you!

It's so smartly written, thoughtfully designed, and carefully crafted. May all the funding dreams come true!

The multi-leg journey home: admittedly less fun!
Thanks to everyone who came to our GDC workshop last Tuesday, and to all the other inspiring speakers, colleagues, friends, and game devs I got to chat to. It's nice to end a week more energized than when I started it.
Oops, that should have read "and desperately scrambling" without the "not".
