I had to leave off a lot of great ones - Rebecca, Rope, Frenzy, Sabotage, and his “lighter” films like To Catch A Thief and Dial M For Murder

But Altman has his own style. It’s like Polanski with Rosemary’s Baby and The Tenant - very faithful to the source material, but stylistically & visually, you know it’s a Polanski film.

I haven’t read the novel, but I mean fercrisssake, this is Robert Altman!! He puts his own “stamp” on everything he does, without exception. “Fidelity” to the book don’t mean squat to him

I agree. How often do I rush back to Notorious, Strangers On A Train, Rear Window, The Birds or Shadow Of A Doubt as being an absolute favorite? A lot!!

That’s my favorite Brian de Palma movie

It’s a very fun de Palma thriller. The tone is completely different from Sisters or Carrie, it’s more comical like Phantom Of The Paradise
