Every time I hear about these huge productivity gains from increasingly baroque Claude code setups, I recoil. In these times you want to be more productive?? You want to master a squad of bots to make more Todo apps? Why? I have to change a relay in my freezer today and I'm already exhausted.

Finally 6 month deep dive into Blender is done! Not 100% happy with the final product but after a month of rendering I'm ready to move on.

If you are GenX old like me and want a correct model for 2016 discourse, imagine thinking about 1993 in 2003.
UFO beams may be my favorite genre of art. I had so many notebook pages full of beam doodles (usually right next to the mushroom clouds -- hey it was the 80s!)
Bathed in twilight, Roland Deschain stands in a field of red roses that surround a tower of massive girth. With arms crossed, he holds up a big revolver. Fingers wrap the sandalwood grips with noticeable tension on the trigger. Loosely knotted cloth spills from his other wrist, exposing the back of his hand, but not the fingers on his right hand. The cloth is bloody where it wraps over pinky and ring finger as he clutches the stem of a rose. Behind him, a narrow stone path leads through the field, past the faces of fallen statues that stare blankly up to the sky. Steps lead up to a wedge of light marking the tower entrance rendered as if the door is ajar. It's unclear whether the light comes from the chamber within or the flaring sun is shining through from the other side of the tower.

My family was very gentle and loving but slamming doors and ignoring basic manners was the norm.
Growing up, my local culture was not the type to do simple courtesies, like hold doors open for others. Then around twelve years old, a new friend casually held a door for me. It meant nothing to them but I suddenly learned both the theory of mind and the concept of unprompted kindness.
In order to put to rest “did they actually use it or not”, Guillaume Broche said it a recent Q&A that they tried AI when the tech was new, but they didn’t like it, it felt wrong to them. And they will not be using it in the future.
A stack of library books
I put a bunch of library books on hold with long wait times hoping they would slowly drip in over the winter. Except they all came in at once and I will end up having to do reading triage in a few weeks.
