I finished Ship of Magic. I'm going to take a break before continuing with the second book in this trilogy because I was left exhausted from the horrors.
Nothing phones look somewhat interesting π are we finally getting fun tech again?
Bit disappointed that Sakamoto Kaori didn't win gold in figure skating, but still happy that Japan got 2-3 in women single skating. #olympics #WinterOlympics #FigureSkating
Remembering Moonbound puts me in a fun adventure mood π€©.
So far I've found Robin Hobb emotionally taxing to read, not only are the books chunky, but she tortures her characters a lot, her mindset seems to be no pain no growth. It's also enormously rewarding to stick with them.
π I love how emotional Kihara Ryuichi got after today's routine and winning gold with Miura Riku, especially considering how beaten up he looked yesterday after making a mistake in their short program #figureSkating #WinterOlympics #Olympics
I started reading the Liveship Traders trilogy (Robin Hobb). Ship of Magic started really slow, couldn't keep me reading more than a few pages at a time, but then I read like 100 in one sitting.
Apparently making me feel angry at the situation is a better hook than worldbuilding.
He lost me a few years ago when he went all: I can't say I'm straight so I can get better scores. He apologized, but that showed who he really is beneath the public figure.

Sato Shun can't believe he won a Bronze medal - and Silver medalist Kagiyama Yuma seems very happy for his pal ...
Watching the Ice Dance #WinterOlympics I love that they use a lot of 90's pop, didn't expect a Backstreet Boys remix, but I'm more of a fan of the brit couple performing to the Spice Girls.
Ilia Malinin is a beast in male figure skating. I'm rooting for Japan though.
Italian guy skating is using that song from Interstellar π« #WinterOlympics
I'm halfway through The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins. It's a mix of genres, a bit fantasy, a bit horror, a thriller. Had a bumpy start, but it keeps taking the weirdest turns and I'm really into it now. Totally bonkers, and best to go in knowing the least possible about it.
Hello gorgeous!
Love the MC energy from this ice skater from France (Aymoz) The first time I saw his short program I felt chills when he started dancing to Lady Gaga - Judas. He just did this same program at the #WinterOlympics

Photo of the cover of "Royal Assassin" by Robin Hobb. The book cover is predominantly black with red illustrations, including a ship and stylized elements around it.
Finished Royal Assassin.
So far I'm loving the Farseer trilogy, but it's a bit taxing. The books are chunky, and a lot of bad things keep happening. It's hard to read Fitz being tortured so much.
I love the writing though, so I want to read the other series eventually.

Journal with Witch (Ikoku Nikki) might be the hidden gem in this anime season. Superb storytelling.
Harvestella took a good turn after I crawled out of the sidequest slump. I'm liking where the story is going even if it's oddly paced and not well constructed.
I got to chapter 7, I'm guessing there's only a few more left before finishing it.

Finished Assassinβs Apprentice. 4.5/5
Not a 5 stars read only because Iβm too empathetic and these characters endure so much hardship, but itβs a superb book. Iβm starting the next one (Royal Assassin) right away.

Those editions! π€©
Iβve been wanting to re-read The Hobbit for a while, but Iβll see where the mood takes me after Farseer.
Those editions look gorgeous.
A close-up photo of the cover of "Assassin's Apprentice, The Illustrated Edition" by Robin Hobb, featuring an ornate gold design. The book is noted as and has several colored tabs.
My first read of the year is the Farseer trilogy by Robin Hobb, I've seen too many recommendations and good reviews to keep overlooking it.
I started Assassin's Apprentice a couple days ago, now I'm nearly halfway through and enjoying it tons.
I missed reading fantasy like this.

I just watched this and itβs phenomenal π€©
Photo of a slice of layered cake. Cream, sponge, and raspberry filling.
Birthday cake (it was yesterday). I got to spend it with friends and had a lovely day and NYE.
Reading downtime, meaning I'm just casually reading an iseaki light novel (Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill)

Book cover of Palaces of the Crow by Ray Nayler
Palaces of the Crow by Ray Nayler releasing on May 19, 2026.
Great story, deeply human, and a sense that a lot of research was done for the writing.
4 teens surviving the war in a forest where crows live. Where they take care of each other to survive, waiting for a better world to come.

Screenshot of my 2025 reading goals in Storygraph. 79/70 books, 20001/20000 pages.
Reading goal achieved. And also, I think I just finished reading my top book for 2026.
