Taylor was a utopianist who believed in industrial cooperation and ideal fit between worker and system. The dehumanization angle is a critique of his work, not his theory

One reviewer used AI to review our manuscript.
How do we know?
Suggested papers to cite that do not exist. Some titles correct, but everything else is wrong or just fabricated out of whole cloth.
Requested citations for things Iโve said in review papers that were citing other papers.
Imho you are being too charitable, but at a minimum the journal needs to take responsibility for this and, in my view, demonstrate to you the changes they have made to make sure this doesn't happen again.
We should all be doing this. We really need to get past the hesitancy
It is beyond misconduct. It is fraudulent.
In what world is submitting scholarly work with falsified citations anything other than fraud?
Let's start calling this what it is: academic fraud
Submitting scholarly work of any type with falsified citations is fraud and should be treated as such. People should lose their jobs over it.
Journals may not be aware this is taking place but we need to start naming where it happens
eh, yeah. Sorry. I'm a fairly serious amateur gardener so I know how completely ridiculous this kind of suggestion is. It was mostly a bad attempt at gallows humor

I had not thought of this, and I still wish I hadn't
Every day I'm just a little more excited about the prospect of abandoning everything and building a shack by a lake in the Sawtooth Mountains with several German Shepherds, a shotgun, and no phone line
Fuck that
Juan Cole is always worth reading for those of us who know little about Islam or the Muslim world. I'm sure for many this is basic stuff but for me it was illuminating

Because we are idiots
A dispatch from the annals of Project 2025 authoritarianism: Universities are now being required to provide demographic data on all students who applied to their schools for the past 5 years so the feds can sniff out illegal affirmative action. Until last year, tho, keeping such data was not allowed
State tax structure linked to length of COVID restrictions
Reliance on sales tax for revenue may have factored into the length of stay-at-home orders.

I think I'm coming at this from a different perspective, maybe. I'm talking about the networks and perspectives that are downstream from the 1960s/1970s counterculture
They are starting to get radicalized, and not in the good way
I mean, I know that raw milk is more dangerous than pasteurized milk. But wanting to drink raw milk because you think it is good for you should not be a pathway into Trumpism. We need space for alternative health practices that conflict with science and even public health in the left coalition
Not really. But I basically mean that alternative health practices should not be a glide path to fascism. Unless people on the left want everyone who shops at a co-op to get folded into the Trumps coalition we need to offer folks who buy herbal remedies and such a path to the left
We need a left wing, populist holistic health movement. Like, asap
Historian of French Revolution here to say that in periods like this, squeamish compromisers do as much to drive radicalization as do ideologues. If you keep making excuses for the unfit king, eventually folks come for you and him.
