SOMEBODY’s gotta anchor the bottom of the curve!

To be clear: about the “no laptop touching” part…NOT the therapy part
There’s a claw for that!

There’s a crazy reality where maximum proliferation lowkey could be the key to world peace
Clanker: “I’ve implemented this code”
Me: “…..you SURE about that?”
Clanker: “You’re absolutely right! There’s a critical logic flaw in one of your described happy paths! Let me fix that!”

One surprisingly effective desloppification strategy I’ve found with coding LLMs boils down to this gif:
Freezing fruits & yogurt tubes (“squishy yogurt” as my 3yo says) can also be a sweet spot (lol) for kids where “treat-adjacency” is a top priority
genuinely: whose isn’t a little bit in 2026? (rot counts)
I’ve been testing the following workflow this week:
Stage commit with Codex
Code review with Codex “Code Review” feature in codex app (fresh session)
Code review with Claude
Ask each model to validate and prioritize the other’s code review
Have Codex implement critical fixes identified (its own)
I don’t mean to assume you haven’t already tried everything under the sun twice…I’ve benefitted from parents sharing bits of life and learnings on social media so I always try to pay that forward.
Thank you btw for your part in exemplifying this with your OP 🙏
On a more serious note, my 5yo inherited some of my broken brain (ASD 1), and we’ve found the flavor of food matters less than other sensory attributes: texture, temperature, shape
I’ve heard of some wacky parent hacks like frozen “protein bars” (pb with chocolate melted on top) that picky kids eat
Dude this kind of stuff is so hard…my crunchy CA upbringing and genetic predisposition to Kale have me feeling guilty about my kid eating Dino nuggies every other night
But the whiny kid refuses to touch mom’s baked salmon with a flawless miso glaze
His loss 🤷♂️
Codex has been a killer code reviewer for Codex this week ngl
They really cooked with their desktop app

I'D JUST LIKE TO INTERJECT FOR A MOMENT. WHAT YOU'RE REFERRING TO AS LINUX IS IN FACT GNU/LINUX, OR AS I'VE RECENTLY TAKEN TO CALLING IT, GNU PLUS LINUX. LINUX IS NOT AN OPERATING SYSTEM UNTO ITSELF, BUT RATHER ANOTHER FREE COMPONENT OF A FULLY FUNCTIONING GNU SYSTEM
Best Coast!!
It could certainly be the codebase and setup I’m working in but Opus has been a very stupid idiot for me recently
Used it to code review this week and it found 5 nits and missed 2 functional errors on the happy path 🙄
That totally makes sense, sorry for getting extra nerdy/analytical about it. I’ve been experimenting with different setups and I think Claude Code has a bunch of power it brings to the table independent of the LLM. I think social media takes end up being largely “apples to tricycles” as a result

Thanks for saving me a reply. Lazy is great, LazyVim sucks (my opinion)
shhhhh we can’t have Josh quit first week
What’s the upgrade? I’m tired of garbage mesh routers
Best leverage a manager can have is amplifying and unlocking their people…LLMs by promise produce MUCH more work…and amplifying it probably isn’t feasible / advisable in the same way it is for humans.
Project management is probably the most transferable skill but that effort scales with output 🤔
Missing the humans is the big point IMO. Being good at middle management is mostly about being good with people.
I think it’s fantastic for small teams that do lots of client request work, in various codebases that look similar, and lots of small shifts and basic logic are requested on a weekly basis. LLMs are good (well…FAST) at grunt work.
Year of desktop Linux? Is it finally here?
