Community is about finding a common ground and supporting each other, at least to me. The way a lot of us are now is extremely antithetical to this. I could write a lot about asocial behaviors but the people engaging in them don't seem to be realizing it...
Another thing about community building is people will actually need to engage with artists they can't extract value from. Also people who are focused on"well actuallying" everything will need to stop or be ignored. And no passive aggressive competition or baiting.
I'm usually a lurker when I'm not using an art account, and in bigger groups! I also have def grown into the confidence I have online. But me too! Maybe people feel self conscious because people can be hostile at times, or "well actually" something. I dunno, but I want artists to blab more!

It's so weird because on here you're not damaged by talking or replying to people so why not do it more? I get ppl are shy but nothing will change if you don't TRY and build a community!

I love seeing artists talking about the lack of community among ourselves, so we should try to change it!
Comment more on other artists posts, talk freely about what inspires you, and share with current friends what you're thinking about. We can have a community again if we are mindful about it.

It's disappointing right? Another thing is I think people want "community" but they don't know how to be part of that "community" so they always become places where people compare, compete, and promote.

One thing I actually love about Umineko is how Ryukishi figured out how to make his loquacious writing style work as a narrative device. The sheer amount of detail being described gives the reader mental overload, much like how Battler feels!
