It's been a minute but I found my way back to a conference; I'll be at AGBT this week representing @stellaromics.bsky.social to lend my experience communicating all things #spatialbio #bioinformatics #techbio #ai ! Looking forward to meeting new folks, please reach out if interested! ๐งฌ๐ฌ

pip install bento-tools==2.1.4
Oof, software releases are always so nerve racking ๐
just updated bento-tools.readthedocs.io to v2.1.4 ๐ฅณ
We now support 1-to-many spatial indexing for mapping cells to multiple organelles/subcellular domains, enabling the modeling of complex spatial relationships! #spatialbiology ๐งช๐งฌ๐ฅ๏ธ

super intuitive demo! given a sufficient amount of training data, I wonder if you find it more useful to train OCTO as a single foundation model or separate tissue-specific specialist models? since TMEs are so different between cancers

I like this reframing of cell archetypes and the flexibility it allows by turning "cell type" into a combo of quantitative variables! Kind of like blending a palette of colors ๐จ

I created a feed for #spatialbiology here! It's keyword based for most spatial omics terms. Give it a like if you find it useful, thanks! ๐

I guess the real question is, what do live-coding interviews measure in a candidate that is relevant to the job? And what are (better) alternatives if Astral has found any? ๐

Standardized educational resources could also go a long way. Since it's part of scientific "training" maybe it could be formalized.

Cool work @kinnaryshah.bsky.social ๐ any thoughts on whether the same assumptions hold and are applicable to model the mean variance relationship in the imaging-based spatial methods?
