Seattle Spring Weather is back off its medication, obv ❄️❄️❄️
Maybe this was basically his 2026 World Series, he peaked for it and this was his absolute A+ game, vs semi-rusty MLBers trying hard in a national pride exhibition. Not so sure he's ready to keep red-lining whatever he's got left over another full season, or that it'd look good once MLB games count.
BURN THE TREE
JULIO HURTS THIS TEAM BY NOT DIVING
Also forgot about the Weather Forecast Paradox: When the media and everyone dooms and glooms about an incoming storm, it's never anywhere near bad. But when a truly bad storm hits, no one for some reason ever sees or forecasts it coming.
Totally forgot until last night about whole "wind does serious damage in Seattle" thing. I saw the forecast and just figured 'oh do my run in the AM because running in that sucks'. Spaced that it always knocks out power and damages property here, because strangely outdated primitive infrastructure.
I have watched this approximately 47 times and laughed out loud 47 times
The 10K runner behind you finds your ghostbusting amusing
Photo from the end of the Hot Chocolate Run 15k in Seattle on 3/1/26. I’m wearing a red t-shirt and shorts with dark gray sleeves and leggings, even though I have no affiliation to WSU. As I’m sprinting to the finish, I’m kind of sucking wind and my hair is flopping around. Finish time of 1:23:32
I did the gd thing!
BTW, didn't mention this when it happened... but I move back this December, and Seahawks immediately won another Super Bowl. If the Mariners want to buy me a condo I think I can get them a dynasty 😉
Stop it!
New Mariners infield candidate?
The Angels, everybody
They're not going to show balls/strikes in the strike zone box, apparently, to avoid dugout video guy manipulation. chicago.suntimes.com/sports-media...
Well, .500 definitely didn't happen. Everything I loved about this Loyola team when I started supporting them long ago is long gone.
Crazy how quickly his career collapsed, and that'll be a drive into shallow left field by Castellanos... for the second out
Road race signup site Active dot com used to pull a variation of this trick, using deceptive button sizing/placement to try and fool you into paying for an Active subscription while completing the purchase of your race entry. Maybe they still do: Lot of organizers stopped using them because of it.
Of all the 2025 MLB torpedo bat guys, did anyone get a bigger boost once they adopted it than Cal Raleigh? A lot of guys had great seasons and improved with them (e.g. Junior Caminero) but did anyone's stats jump this past year more than Dumper's?
Arbitration mediators to the Tigers:
Donovan for now most likely, with the hope that Colt Emerson will be ready soon
Tampa's reportedly part of the trade (3-way) and Williamson is going there as part of it. Probably at least one prospect that hurts will be involved once it's official.
Donovan coming to SEA and Ben Williamson going away in the deal means Donovan's probably coming in to play 3B. Even if his D is minus at 3B*, I don't have a huge problem with plugging that bat into the lineup.
* He was + at 3B per UZR in a small sample, tho

Back where his career started.
(I think he's a trap, BTW. That late 2025 collapse may be legit)

@WillSammon Dylan Moore and the Philadelphia Phillies are in agreement on a minor league contract that includes an invitation to major league spring training, league sources said. He can make up to $3.25 million with plate appearance and active roster bonuses.
BURN THE TREE?? ALREADY?!
The Seattle Mariners have announced their plan for in-market streaming this year: Mariners.TV.
The product will allow in-market streaming at $99.99 a year, equivalent to Root Sports Stream a year ago. Cable/satellite broadcasts will continue as well. www.lookoutlanding.com/news/138537/...
And of course it's worth noting that the Pirates just aren't good in general and weren't ever in any real position to build a contender, not to mention their cheap owner wasn't going to invest in changing that. It didn't really hurt them to pay Cutch and DH him everyday.
Worth noting:
- Pujols only came back for a year.
- Kershaw when healthy stayed effective until he was done.
- Wainwright only fell off a cliff his last year.
- Yadi was a part timer his last year (he was still ok).
- Tigers were stuck with Miggy's massive contract so he had to be there.
Tweet from Yu Darvish: You may have seen an article, and although I am leaning towards voiding the contract, there's still a lot that has to be talked over with the Padres so the finer details are yet to be decided. Also I will not be announcing my retirement yet. Right now 1 am fully focused on my rehab for my elbow, and if I get to a point where I can throw again, I will start from scratch again to compete. If once | get to that point I feel I can't do that, I will announce my retirement.
Incredible. Banner day for the @sandiegouniontribune.com.
