Whether it's a nice place to be is sorta irrelevant.

It's in a location that is perfectly suited for people transiting between Asia and Europe or North Africa.

I wouldn't say Las Vegas has soul either.

It's sad that parents can't parent their children and expect the government and the rest of society to do it for them.

Mobile phones and laptops/browsers have had parental controls and other mechanisms available for literally a decade.

Parents need to learn how to use them.

Nation censors social media during a war.

Not really a surprise.

If you don't like it, don't stay there or break their laws while you are there.

Delete the pics from your social media and mobile.

Which is more likely in the next few weeks, garage on fire because of runaway EV battery, or garage on fire because jerry cans leak?

Which is more likely this week?

An EV or petrol improperly stored catches fire in someone's garage?

With all the blather about fuel, the govt set up Minimum Stockholding Obligations in 2023.

www.dcceew.gov.au/energy/secur...

The current stockholding is reported weekly here:

www.dcceew.gov.au/energy/secur...

As of last week we had: 36 days of petrol, 29 jet fuel, 32 diesel.

For everyone worrying about fuel:

1. The ALP government set up the "Minimum Stockholding Obligations" in 2023. They increased it last year. It's a requirement for fuel storage *on-shore*.

2. The current holdings are reported here:

You should revise your labels again, it's the "Israeli/US War in the Middle East against Iran".

This current phase is entirely instigated and conducted by Israel and the US, it is not the "Middle East" vs Iran.

That is just a statement of fact.

Electrifying the trucks is going to happen much faster than attempting to resurrect old rail lines with antiquated or absent signalling and electrical infrastructure.

China has already advanced electric trucking, with quick swap batteries as well.

We already maintain the roads.

What evidence exactly? It'd be nice to have some sources to back up your claim, which, if correct, changes the entire basis of this war.

Well, it's supposed to be non-partisan, but not "neutral".

It is supposed to take Australia's side, but since the day it was started, it has been part of Five Eyes and anti-communist, which evolved to be anti-islamist.

Apparently decided by George Washington because there was an debate between 1 group that just wanted him to be called the President, & others who actually wanted a title like "His Elective Majesty".

Diplomatically, heads of state are "His/Her Excellency".

When it was first introduced it was actually a way to make the title *less* like a nobility.

The idea was that the President was just another "Mr".

But USians like to use someone's highest ranking job as a title, so it's Secretary Clinton for Hillary etc.

There’s a big difference between supporting an action and being attacked. Dubai is very vulnerable and is a major world hub, let alone straits of Hormuz. We all need to get away from oil dependence.

01.03.2026 02:41 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Anyone trying to get to or from Europe from Australia, it's going to really suck.

Dubai, Abu Dhabi alone had 128 million passengers last year.

Are we really supporting a total Middle Eastern war? Iran has dragged in all of the ME by attacking them.

Jesus, had nothing to do with @albomp.bsky.social

US beef didn't meet our biosecurity laws, they changed their processes, now they do. So we let them try to sell it to us.
Their beef is way more expensive, because drought.
It's not as good (way more fat).
We have origin labels so people will know.
