Screenshot of a tweet by @ZeroSuitCamus that reads: "The first line of Pinocchio is so funny." Below the tweet text is a photo of the book's opening lines, which read: "Once upon a time there was… 'A king!' my little readers will say at once. No, children, you're wrong. Once upon a time there was a piece of wood."
We've been thinking about this piece of wood all day. 🪵

The historic Ladies Library building in Ypsilanti, Michigan — a two-story red brick Victorian structure with arched windows and a decorative roofline, photographed in early spring with bare trees surrounding it.
Three Ypsilanti women started a library in 1868 with 175 books. We've added a few since then. 🙂
Eunice Watling, Gloria Follett, and Sarah Pardee founded the Ladies Library Association of Ypsilanti, and what began as a small reading room eventually became the library you know today.

Screenshot of a tweet from Jonathan Edward Durham (@thisone0verhere) that reads: 'An underrated aspect of public libraries is that they're one of the last true no-pressure zones. Want to buckle down and do work? Great. Want to go sit by yourself and read? Also great! Need a book? Here, take it! A computer? You don't even have to ask! Can only stay for a little bit? Awesome. Want to hang around for 8 hours? They literally love that for you! You can feel it the moment you walk in and it's so so necessary.' The tweet is overlaid on a photo of the Ypsilanti District Library stacks.
Come as you are. Stay as long as you need.
