Improving pulse detection for X-IFU on @the-athena-x-ray-observatory.eu at ADASS XXXV.
Overlapping pulses often confuse the standard detection algorithm. We tested a new method, Delayed Derivative Subtraction, to improve overlaps detection. Simulations look promising! In bcobo.github.io/SIRENA/ 🛠️

NewAthena, the 2nd large #CosmicVision mission, will be the biggest X-ray observatory ever built. It’ll probe the hottest, most energetic parts of the Universe. Adoption expected in 2027, launch in 2037 on Ariane 6.4. Meanwhile, its community of 1130 scientists are shaping its science case.
