Senate abandons compromise with unions, passes ban on public sector collective bargaining • Utah News Dispatch The Utah Legislature gave final approval to a bill banning collective bargaining for public unions, which represent teachers and firefighters.

The Utah Senate narrowly gave final passage to a bill mired in controversy that strips public sector unions — teachers, firefighters and police, and road maintenance workers — of their ability to collectively bargain. It now heads to Gov. Spencer Cox. #utpol
