Mobile phone crime cannot be solved by policing alone. We need greater collaboration between tech companies and international law enforcement.
If we donβt see results, the Commissioner will have my full support in calling for new legislation.

Revolut acquires full UK banking license after years-long wait
My campaign to secure a banking hub in Totnes continues!
Iβve just returned from appearing before the backbench business committee where I successfully applied for a debate on banking services in rural areas.
Yesterday Labour MPs voted against banning under-16s from harmful social media, making school uniform cheaper, giving vulnerable children enough money for therapy, and siblings separated in the care system the right to stay in contact.
I was pleased to see the Government present the Social Cohesion Strategy yesterday. Promised last year, it is needed now more than ever.
Strong communities are built not by excluding people, but by ensuring that everyone feels they belong.
The decision to end the Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme has created real uncertainty for churches and faith buildings, many of which rely on local donations for essential repairs. Ministers must now make clear how they will be supported if this VAT relief ends.

βοΈ Today I voted AGAINST the Governmentβs Courts & Tribunals Bill, because it would erode our right to trial by jury.
Jury trials are a cornerstone of our justice system here in the UK. π¬π§
Yesterday on BBC Newsnight, we discussed the ongoing war in Iran and when Trump might decide to end it. We also spoke about the UK's involvement and recent criticisms of Starmer.
I was proud to vote against restricting trial by jury last night.
If more Labour backbenchers had taken a stand, alongside the Liberal Democrats, we could have stopped the government.
This morning I spoke to BBC Radio Somerset about the Heating Oil price shock and what can be done about it. Liberal Democrats are proposing immediate, sensible steps to protect people.
I will keep you updated as to what the Government decides to do after my meeting with the Treasury this morning.
Yesterday in Parliament, I called on the Government to commit to a full ban on fur sales β ensuring our trade policy matches domestic welfare standards and preventing the offshoring of animal cruelty.
π¨ When meeting constituents up in Boscastle on Friday, one of them spoke to me about battery backups during storms and extreme weather events - which I was proud to raise on their behalf last night in a debate in Parliament. π¬
Families are already seeing petrol prices rise, mortgage rates go up and energy deals get more expensive because of a war they did not start or support.
While the Conservatives and Reform cheer Trump on, I asked the PM if he will just stand by and watch energy bills skyrocket.
The Conservatives' Brexit project left us weaker and poorer.
If the government is serious about boosting our economy, they should listen to @libdems.org.uk proposals for a bespoke customs union with the largest trading bloc in the world - which is already right on our doorstep.
Today I asked the Prime Minister if he would agree to meet with the Survivors of Fayed and I am very pleased that he agreed to. As Co-Chair, alongside Dave Robertson MP, of the APPG for the Survivors of Fayed and Harrods, this is a vital step forward.
π¨π¨ SCRAP VAT ON HEATING OIL demands Ben Maguire MP π¬
Almost 27,000 households in North Cornwall rely on heating oil, yet they have no protection from sudden price spikes following Trumpβs illegal war against Iran. π
Great to be at @cardiffuni.bsky.social this morning. A very intriguing title to today's business breakfast briefing.
3 point increase for the @libdems.org.uk π
It's a more in common poll π©
The other by-election result which isn't getting much publicity. (Yeah, I know it's a council by-election, but it's the only other election this week)
I'm being reminded about the power of story telling. 30% of children in Wales being in poverty is just a statistic. A child who describes their home as being a place of bills, a crying Mum and huddling together like penguins for warmth is a national scandal. @libdems.org.uk #wales #bevancommission

US officials are admitting that they and Israel have to choose which missiles to intercept because they are very low on interceptors, and the US has now taken it's THAAD inventory from South Korea. It's been 11 days. It feels like this really pierces the veil of American military invincibility.
I wrote about Democratic pols resistance to their base on Israel...and how it's not sustainable (and is already starting to crack.) www.everythingishorrible.net/p/why-politi...
Drip, drip, drip: The indefatigable Julie Brown keeps breaking news about Trump and Epstein. New at Media Nation. dankennedy.net/2026/03/09/d...
An article describing how a Norwegian immigrant married a US citizen but ICE detailed her and refused her insulin, causing blindness and almost killed her. In between, an ad from the common sense leadership fund lauds the president's "understanding of the art of the deal" and boosts his alleged pro-business agenda
The contrast is ghoulish. A "pro-business" president nearly killing people because cruelty is the point.
For those who have forgotten the past 40 years:
Tax cuts for the rich
...donβt trickle down
Boosting military spending
...doesnβt bring peace
Slashing regulations
...doesnβt create jobs
Folks, weβve seen this all before.
Good morning, dear friends, and Happy Womenβs Day.
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, productive, safe, and peaceful day. On this special day, I want to thank all women for their strength, kindness, and endless care. Your love, courage, and dedication make the world better every day.π

Axios reports that Trump wants to seize Kharg Island to grab Iranian uranium stockpiles. But Kharg Island houses 90% plus of Iran's export petroleum, and that's what Trump really wants. www.axios.com/2026/03/08/i...
