Ted Lieu: “A foreign hacker likely has the Epstein Files — the best way to prevent blackmail of government officials, such as Trump & Howard Lutnick, would be for AG Pam Bondi to stop the cover up & release all the Epstein Files as required by law”

Trump’s military excursion, into an abyss
The evident fact is that the president is nuts.
New in PN: Trump’s military excursion, into an abyss
"The evident fact is that the president is completely nuts, and that he’s 'governing' the country — and has now taken the US to war — based on his impulses alone, without even the pretense of a strategy or goal."

Trump seems to think he’s been exonerated from the biggest child sex crime in history. The coverup continues.

This administration is committing Watergate level crimes multiple times per week—and those are the ones we know about. It’s crazy to think about what else will come out after.
It’s absolutely essential these criminals are held responsible for their crimes. We must end elite impunity.

Met Police chief gives phone firms deadline over thefts
Sir Mark Rowley says manufacturers have not done enough to make phone thefts unprofitable to criminals.
Mobile phone crime cannot be solved by policing alone. We need greater collaboration between tech companies and international law enforcement.
If we don’t see results, the Commissioner will have my full support in calling for new legislation.

My campaign to secure a banking hub in Totnes continues!
I’ve just returned from appearing before the backbench business committee where I successfully applied for a debate on banking services in rural areas.

Yesterday Labour MPs voted against banning under-16s from harmful social media, making school uniform cheaper, giving vulnerable children enough money for therapy, and siblings separated in the care system the right to stay in contact.

I was pleased to see the Government present the Social Cohesion Strategy yesterday. Promised last year, it is needed now more than ever.
Strong communities are built not by excluding people, but by ensuring that everyone feels they belong.

The decision to end the Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme has created real uncertainty for churches and faith buildings, many of which rely on local donations for essential repairs. Ministers must now make clear how they will be supported if this VAT relief ends.

⚖️ Today I voted AGAINST the Government’s Courts & Tribunals Bill, because it would erode our right to trial by jury.
Jury trials are a cornerstone of our justice system here in the UK. 🇬🇧

Yesterday on BBC Newsnight, we discussed the ongoing war in Iran and when Trump might decide to end it. We also spoke about the UK's involvement and recent criticisms of Starmer.

I was proud to vote against restricting trial by jury last night.
If more Labour backbenchers had taken a stand, alongside the Liberal Democrats, we could have stopped the government.

This morning I spoke to BBC Radio Somerset about the Heating Oil price shock and what can be done about it. Liberal Democrats are proposing immediate, sensible steps to protect people.
I will keep you updated as to what the Government decides to do after my meeting with the Treasury this morning.

Yesterday in Parliament, I called on the Government to commit to a full ban on fur sales – ensuring our trade policy matches domestic welfare standards and preventing the offshoring of animal cruelty.

Families are already seeing petrol prices rise, mortgage rates go up and energy deals get more expensive because of a war they did not start or support.
While the Conservatives and Reform cheer Trump on, I asked the PM if he will just stand by and watch energy bills skyrocket.

The Conservatives' Brexit project left us weaker and poorer.
If the government is serious about boosting our economy, they should listen to @libdems.org.uk proposals for a bespoke customs union with the largest trading bloc in the world - which is already right on our doorstep.

I'm being reminded about the power of story telling. 30% of children in Wales being in poverty is just a statistic. A child who describes their home as being a place of bills, a crying Mum and huddling together like penguins for warmth is a national scandal. @libdems.org.uk #wales #bevancommission

US officials are admitting that they and Israel have to choose which missiles to intercept because they are very low on interceptors, and the US has now taken it's THAAD inventory from South Korea. It's been 11 days. It feels like this really pierces the veil of American military invincibility.

An article describing how a Norwegian immigrant married a US citizen but ICE detailed her and refused her insulin, causing blindness and almost killed her. In between, an ad from the common sense leadership fund lauds the president's "understanding of the art of the deal" and boosts his alleged pro-business agenda
The contrast is ghoulish. A "pro-business" president nearly killing people because cruelty is the point.
