On assignment for Oceanographic Magazine, Convex Seascape Survey and Blue Marine Foundation. The lead scientist gazes intently at the sediment, uncovering its blue carbon secrets. Tasked with creatively capturing the scientists’ work both in the field and the lab, I focused on transforming the often-overlooked world of sediment into something engaging and accessible. Using blue light painting in the Cornwall labs, I visually represented blue carbon. This image was captured entirely in-camera.

This ongoing social media campaign combines 200 illustrations of sharks and rays with engaging videos, storytelling, and educational content for each species. By celebrating their beauty and diversity, the project aims to inspire over 1 million people to see sharks and rays in a new light and take action to protect these vital ocean guardians.

On assignment for Oceanographic Magazine, Convex Seascape Survey and Blue Marine Foundation. The lead scientist controls the remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to record the seafloor below. The scientists investigate the animal communities residing on the seabed, by employing a ROV to film these habitats. This method enables the assessment of abundance and diversity over large areas of the seafloor.
