Iโ€™m reshaping the narrative on sharks because theyโ€™re not these mindless killers! 200 sharks are lost from our oceans every single minute. Iโ€™m illustrating 200 sharks and rays in a new project, aiming to inspire over 1 million people to care!

On assignment for Oceanographic Magazine, Convex Seascape Survey and Blue Marine Foundation. The lead scientist gazes intently at the sediment, uncovering its blue carbon secrets. Tasked with creatively capturing the scientistsโ€™ work both in the field and the lab, I focused on transforming the often-overlooked world of sediment into something engaging and accessible. Using blue light painting in the Cornwall labs, I visually represented blue carbon. This image was captured entirely in-camera.

The 3rd illustration for my 200 Sharks Project, an Ornate Eagle Ray.

Sharks arenโ€™t mindless killers; theyโ€™re beautiful, intelligent, and essential to our oceans. Yet, an alarming 200 sharks are lost from our oceans every single minute. Through 200 Sharks, Iโ€™m reshaping the narrative surrounding these misunderstood creatures. This ongoing social media campaign combines 200 illustrations of sharks and rays with engaging videos, storytelling, and educational content for each species. By celebrating their beauty and diversity, the project aims to inspire over 1 million people to see sharks and rays in a new light and take action to protect these vital ocean guardians.

On assignment for Oceanographic Magazine, Convex Seascape Survey and Blue Marine Foundation. The lead scientist controls the remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to record the seafloor below. The scientists investigate the animal communities residing on the seabed, by employing a ROV to film these habitats. This method enables the assessment of abundance and diversity over large areas of the seafloor.
