I really relate to this comment. Paints an accurate picture of my life!

My initial thought is to build in 'movement' time, away from the desk, where they can lie on a floor cushion or similar. Could they access this space during whole class input for 5 minutes? Have a whiteboard and pen nearby so they can record easily, then return to their desk.

My son was describing an instrument he had seen when he visited the theatre. 'Floor guitar' was what he settled on to describe the cello. Now, any stringed instrument is a variation on that, i.e., 'chin guitar' for violin.
