I've ordered a Les Paul kit, with flamed maple veneer and one-ply binding. Standard enough, but I've done patterns on such described as 'spiral acidburst' or 'rainbow tie-dye.' I never get suggestions when I ask on FB, but does anyone here have a guitar color scheme they'd like to see?

Most of my money's being saved for computer parts these days, but I did grab a cheap superstrat kit as a practice project. I've ordered some tigers eye stones of unusual colors and, after staining the body in stripes to match them, I'll be practicing my inlay work by embedding them her and there.

I recall seeing a similar adaptation that didn't quite work out. An adolescent rabbit was crossing a road in Arizona while I was biking along. I saw it start to cross, see a car coming, and go back before trying again. The problem was there were two cars coming, and the second resulted in splat.

There's a reason I named my latest guitar (and current profile icon) No Time for Silence. Not doing so may have been the 'safer' choice, but old saws about freedoms and security seem to apply.
I'm not comfortable with the article's theme of forcing this sort of thing on us, since I've managed to avoid any and all contact with our (not real) 'AIs' yet, but luckily it seems to ignore the fact that we can just choose not to buy one of the new gadgets, or even associate with anyone with one.
So happy to be one of the relatively few types of artist that AI can't substitute for. Hand-finished, unique guitars are still for humans to make and enjoy, Gibson's lacquer-spraying robots notwithstanding.

I generally build a rainbow guitar every year in time for Pride season, but there are reasons that this year's includes extra stripes (white, pink, light blue, brown, and black) and that it's named No Time for Silence. It's not a year for 'just another' ANYTHING.

All done, well set up and singing sweetly now that I've fixed a factory wiring issue on the control plate. This is No Time for Silence, a self-evident truth as well as the name of my first 'opal series' guitar.
I don't have the teeth to handle nuts these days, but for a smoother 'nutty fudge' I've found that replacing the chocolate chips in the recipe with Reece's peanut butter chips works deliciously. Also tried it with butterscotch chips once.
I had to adapt a bit for my newest flag, since none of the available designs fit the shape well.

I'm reminded of a quote, I can't recall from whom, that some people are still alive ONLY because it's illegal to kill them. Seems to fit. The jury drama would be something else though, wouldn't it? It'd make the Luigi situation seem easy from a legal logistics point.
I'm all for this, but I've been avoiding Amazon pretty much forever. Never had an account with them, not planning to ever sign up. There are other sources, at just as good of prices, for pretty much everything there, so even if they comply, why should I ever START shopping there?
